The Soltaniyeh dome, a short drive away, is one of the largest brick domes in the world and a World Heritage site, built as a mausoleum for a Mongol ruler. The city's covered bazaar and its traditional laundry house converted into a museum are the main sights within Zanjan itself.
The bazaar area is walkable and shared taxis cover the rest of the city. Reaching Soltaniyeh needs a taxi or arranged car, and the main highway and rail line pass through toward Tabriz.
