The seven crater lakes are the city's distinction, with Sampaloc the largest and most accessible, ringed by a walking path in the centre of town. Mount Banahaw is a sacred mountain for several local religious groups and a hiking destination, and the hot springs of Los Baños are nearby.
Tricycles and jeepneys cover the city, and reaching the outer lakes needs local transport. Buses connect to Manila in a couple of hours depending on traffic.
