Puchong is a large suburban township in Selangor within the Klang Valley, south of Kuala Lumpur, and forms part of the capital's continuous urban area. It is residential and commercial, built around a series of planned housing estates and shopping developments.
There are no landmark attractions in the township itself, whose interest is everyday suburban Malaysian life and its food courts and night markets. Central Kuala Lumpur with its towers, museums and old quarter is a short journey north, and the Batu Caves lie on the far side of the city.
An LRT line runs through the township and connects to central Kuala Lumpur, supplemented by ride-hailing which is cheap and ubiquitous. Traffic on the highways into the city builds heavily at commuting times.
