Neighborhood guide
Marabá stands where the Itacaiúnas river meets the Tocantins in southeastern Pará, on the edge of the Amazon. It grew as a Brazil nut trading post and is now the hub of the Carajás mining region, spread across several separate nuclei divided by the rivers.
