    Where to stay

    Neighborhood guide

Espoo adjoins Helsinki to the west and is Finland's second-largest city, though it has no single dominant centre. It is spread across several district centres among forest, lakes and a rocky coastline, with Tapiola the best known as a planned garden city.

    What to see

    Timed to the light

Nuuksio National Park within the city limits gives genuine Finnish forest, lakes and boardwalk trails within half an hour of Helsinki. The EMMA modern art museum in Tapiola is excellent, the Gallen-Kallela museum occupies the painter's studio home, and the coastal archipelago is reached from the shore.
