Brent is a London borough in the northwest of the city rather than a separate town, and is among the most ethnically diverse local authority areas in Britain. Wembley, Kilburn, Willesden and Neasden are its main centres.
Wembley Stadium, the national football stadium, is the borough's landmark and dominates the area around it, with a large arena and outlet shopping alongside. The Neasden Temple, a hand-carved marble and limestone Hindu mandir, is a remarkable building, and Kilburn High Road reflects the area's long Irish history.
Several Underground lines and Overground services cross the borough with quick links to central London. Buses fill the gaps, and the borough is spread out enough that walking between its centres is impractical.
Late spring through early autumn gives the longest daylight and the mildest weather. Rain is possible in any month, and event days at Wembley transform the local area entirely.
